Honors Courses

Honors Courses are available to grade 9 students in the following areas: English, science, social studies and math.

Advanced Placement (AP)

College-level coursework for students as early as their sophomore year. AP exams allow students to earn university credit and/or advanced university standing based on the examination score.

Advanced Standing Certificate (ASC)

Career and technical courses developed by high school and college faculty. Students may earn college credits at Central Lakes College while attending high school.

College in the Schools (CIS)

Courses taught by high school instructors for college credit. These courses can be transferred to Minnesota State Colleges and Universities.

College Level Examination Program (CLEP)

Provides students of any age the opportunity to demonstrate college level achievement through a program of exams in undergraduate college courses.

Online Learning: Infinity

An opportunity for secondary students to participate in individual computer instructed, interactive courses that meet or exceed state academic standards.

Post-Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO)

College courses that may be taken for high school credit on a college campus.
