There are 6 elementary schools in the Brainerd School District for students in grades K – 4. Baxter, Garfield, Harrison, Lowell, Nisswa, and Riverside. The school in which the student will be enrolled is based on the legal address of the Parent/Guardian in which the student resides. Select the link below to view the school boundaries.

Students in grades 5 – 8 attend Forestview Middle School.
Students in grade 9 attend Brainerd High School South Campus.

Early Childhood Screening and Kindergarten Registration It is a state law that children be screened before kindergarten. This screening provides an opportunity for children and their parents to participate in a health and developmental screening. Identifying potential problems or concerns early allows time for intervention during the critical formative years. Your child will be registered for kindergarten at the same time he or she is screened. If your child is three years old or older, call the Early Childhood Center to set up an appointment. 218-454-5430 Appointments are scheduled from September through May. To register your kindergartener during the summer for fall enrollment, please stop by the Student Enrollment Center to fill out the forms. The online forms listed below are available if you would prefer to print and complete the enrollment forms prior to arriving at the Washington Educational Services Building.
