Early Childhood  Education Options

Brainerd Public Schools offers a variety of early childhood programming to meet the needs of our families.  These programs include:

Early Childhood Programs

  • Early Childhood Screening/Kindergarten Registration- The state of Minnesota requires that all children entering kindergarten complete an Early Childhood Screening and recommends this at age 3.  This appointment is a quick and simple check of how your child is learning and growing.

Early Childhood Special Education - early intervention and preschool special education to children birth to kindergarten, who show developmental delay in a variety of areas.  Students must complete an evaluation and meet qualifications to receive intervention services.

PreK Plus Childcare - PreK Plus is a collaboration of CHILD CARE and SCHOOL READINESS PRESCHOOL that serves our families during the school year and summer. Children must be 3-5 years old to attend.
