Hello, I am Peter Grant, superintendent of Brainerd Public Schools. The purpose of this article is to introduce to the community a plan to provide information about the District operations, departments and individual stories about each of our schools.

Since the beginning of Blueprint 181 and the conclusion of the building projects completed over two years ago, I felt it was time to begin a new effort to communicate with you information about the District and our schools. I hope that you will find these articles informative and they create a greater interest in our schools.

This first article is an introduction of many more to follow. When articles about the District’s operations are provided, they will be written by those in charge of those specific areas, like our business operations, human relations, teaching and learning, technology and the educational operations of our schools. Our school principals will be providing stories about their specific schools. We hope that by sharing these stories, you will become more familiar with our District, let alone our schools. A critical point of these articles will be for those who do not have children in our schools and possibly wonder just what is happening within the District.

Two times per month, articles will be submitted for your interest. I am hoping this will help reconnect us with you and help raise a better awareness of what happens throughout the school year. All of our articles will be tied to educating the 6,000 students who enter our schools every single day.

I would like to thank Matt Erickson for his assistance and willingness to help us begin to reconnect with the public. We hope you find the articles over the next several months worthy of your attention and renew your interest in us. In the end, it is to make sure you know that we are striving every single day to meet the District's mission: Educate and Inspire each student by providing innovative opportunities to create lifelong success.
